Coaching Philosophy

Our coaches are there to aid progression and development within sessions. Sessions will also be set to a high tempo, with minimal breaks and stoppages. We like to coach using the ‘fly by’ technique, where we can pull a player out of a session to explain something we want them to practice, whilst still allowing the session to flow and continue. We will also use a lot of ‘Question & Answer’ and ‘Guided Discovery’ coaching interventions, which allow the players to take the lead on their learning, rather than just telling players what to do. This aids the player to understand the difference between a correct or incorrect technique or understanding of a specific part of Goalkeeping, and then put into practice the preferred technique or knowledge. This then helps the player retain their understanding and knowledge, to use in future scenarios.
